New York, NY
Inspired is looking for an Editorial Lead to own the firm’s content and shape how we show up for the founder community. Reporting to our Platform Partner, you will grow the content programs we have already built, launch new ones, and set the editorial bar for everything Inspired publishes—all in service of our mission to back the 0.01% of founders who inhabit the future and bend the world to their realities.
At Inspired, we are obsessed with the craft of early-stage company building. We are building a multigenerational firm and set an extraordinarily high bar for every member of the team. Across the current team, we have worked together for a combined 100+ years and value a tight-knit culture of collaboration and trust.
The ideal candidate is a sharp editor and storyteller with a reporter’s curiosity about founders and the companies they build. This role is based full-time in our New York headquarters in Union Square (featured in Cultured).
Key Responsibilities
- Own Inspired’s editorial strategy and calendar
- Expand and sharpen our existing content programs, including our website and newsletter
- Conceive and launch new editorial franchises, from recurring series and founder playbooks to data-driven pieces
- Work closely with our investment team to draw out their perspectives and turn them into essays and interviews
- Collaborate with the team behind our podcast and social channels so every piece of content travels across formats and reaches a wider audience
- Track what resonates with our audience and use those insights to refine the program over time
- Serve as an editorial resource for our portfolio companies as they build their own storytelling practices
Requirements
- 5–10 years of experience as a journalist, editor, or content lead covering startups, technology, or the founder community
- Exceptional writer with a portfolio of published work to share
- Strong editorial judgment: you know what makes a story worth telling and how to make it land
- A skilled interviewer who can draw sharp, specific insights out of founders and investors
- Experience both building content programs from scratch and scaling existing ones
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-moving, lightly structured environment
